Benefit for NYC Salt | Photography by Malike Sidibe
BAM Art Advisory makes an active effort to share artwork from different cultures and geographies and to support creativity for those from disadvantaged areas. In light of this commitment, BAM Art is organizing an online benefit to support NYC Salt, a non-profit program that provides multi-year photography for high school students from underserved NYC communities as well as college application support and career mentoring. 30% of the proceeds raised will benefit NYC Salt and donations are tax deductible.
Malike Sidibe’s large-scale framed photographs, Mami Wata I and I Can’t Breathe, which appeared on the cover of The New York Times Magazine will be sold to benefit NYC Salt. Malike Sidibe is a 24-year-old African artist and NYC Salt alumni. Besides producing beautiful work that is heavily influenced by his African heritage, Sidibe has gained global recognition for his emotive and poignant images documenting the Black Lives Matter Movement. His impressive list of clients includes TIME, The New York Times Magazine, The Metropolitan Museum, Nike, Instagram, Footlocker, Nikon, The Wall Street Journal, and many others.
